Bookings - Terms & Conditions

On how to book any of the tours in this program please refer to our web page- how to book. Unless additional information and conditions are outlined by your Travel Agent the following conditions apply and are deemed to be accepted with the written confirmation of your booking by TERRA AUSTRALIS SAFARIS or its Agents.

Payments

With the booking a deposit of Aus$500.-/Person is due. 6 weeks prior to the tour start, the full fare has to be paid to the booking agent.

If our prices are published in Australian Dollars (Aus$) in your country, the booking agent's current exchange rate applies.

Cancellation of booking

If a client for any reason cancels a tour booking, the booking agent has to be informed immediately. The following cancellation charges apply:

** up to 241 days prior to tour start, 5% of total tour price,

** 240 days to 121 days prior to tour start, 30% of total tour price,

** 120 days to 31 days prior to tour start, 70% of total tour price,

** 30 days to 1 day prior to tour start, 100% of total tour price,

Changing a confirmed booking to another tour is regarded as a cancellation of the initial booking. Due to our small group sizes (4-6 Pax) these cancellation policy has to be observed. Under certain circumstances we allow provisional bookings (seats are held for 14 days after which booking is either confirmed or cancelled by the client).

No refund is paid for failing to participate on a tour, joining a tour late or leaving a tour early. Cancellation cost can be insured, which we strongly recommend.

For Charter Tours the cancellation policy may be different if this is outlined at the time of booking.

Cancellation of Tours by the Operator

The operators reserve the right to cancel any tour if the required minimum number of four (4) participants is not met or for any other reason. In case of cancellation of a tour due to insufficient numbers, clients are informed two months prior to departure of the tour booked and any deposit paid is refunded in full.

Changes to Programs and Itineraries

Our high standard of equipment combined with our experience will ensure you safe and enjoyable tours. However as most tours lead into remote areas, the operators reserve the right to change arrangements or the itinerary due to weather or other operational conditions (road conditions, mechanical break downs, strikes, government regulations, illness or accidents of clients or tour guides etc.)

Due to the nature of our tours we cannot guarantee exact departure and arrival times and are not to be held responsible for failure to make connecting services.

All personal expenses incurred by a participant resulting from alteration or delay of any tour, whether caused by extreme weather conditions like floods, storms, heat etc., mechanical defects or any other cause, are the responsibility of the participants. (adequate Insurance is recommended - refer to Insurance below)

Complaints & Claims

The tour operator has to be informed of any complaint or claims at the time of the incident. The Tour Operator / Guide, if required issues a report and provides the client(s) with a copy of such report. Any complaint or claim for refund etc. must be lodged with the booking agent within 8 weeks of the tour end. Claims for refunds however are limited to the total amount of the tour fare.

Insurance

Participants are insured to the extent of the compulsory third party insurance as regards personal injury arising out of the tour vehicle use. Any additional insurance is the responsibility of the participants. We strongly recommend taking out adequate insurance cover against cancellation charges, additional cost, accidents, personal injury and damage or loss of luggage etc.

Liability

Except as provided herein and contained in the provisions of the Trade Practices Act 1974, payment of the fare herein shall be deemed a total release to the operator, his servants, agents or representatives of any liability for injury, death, damage or loss of property sustained as a result in participating in any tour with TERRA AUSTRALIS SAFARIS, whatever the cause may be.
